The Flooring Show 2025 was once again held at Harrogate Convention Centre this 21st–23rd September with great success. The exhibition retained and strengthened its reputation as the UK’s biggest flooring-industry gathering, and in a decisive move has announced it will open up in South England for Spring 2026 along with a new logo design.
Following a record-breaking show in 2024, the 2025 edition expanded further into Hall Q, taking up more space. Over 400 brands exhibited and around 3,000+ industry professionals attended, from retailers and distributors to contractors, designers and specifiers. The show’s exhibitors ranged widely, including manufacturers and suppliers across carpet, LVT, wood, laminate, underlay, adhesives, and tools. Once again, many exhibitors used the platform to launch or showcase new products and innovations.
One of the show’s leading attractions is the FITA Demo Zone 2025 in Hall B, which once again provided an engaging display of live demonstrations. Floorlaying techniques and insights were shared from subfloor moisture solutions all the way to how to install floor coverings such as carpet, vinyl, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), and linoleum. Smoothing compounds, underlays and carpet seaming were widely explored, as well as specific techniques from power stretching to hand sewn bullnoses and stairs. There was something for everybody to benefit from, and the relaxed atmosphere allowed for questions.
Another highlight is the final of the Fitter of the Year Competition hosted by the National Institute of Carpet & Floorlayers. This year, with a focus on LVT, the competition was won by Dan Jones. The finalists also included Hayden Barr, Neil Mackay, Dean White and Wesley Brocklesby and they competed across four complex challenges – making full and efficient use of herringbone and basket weave, corners and borders.
This year’s Judges’ Challenge was to produce a picture using light and dark tiles which were supplied by Associated Weavers as part of their Invictus collection. The theme for this year was Famous Landmarks and, although all the entries were stunning, the unanimous winner was Dean White with his King Kong at the top of the Empire State Building, and he won a £100 Amazon Voucher.
LVT was a hot topic this year, complete with a dedicated LVT Pavilion in Hall C curating a selection of cutting-edge LVT collections. With its trend-focused approach, the Design Spotlight in Hall Q was also a particularly strong feature for architects, designers and trend-conscious buyers, allowing visitors to see what’s coming in terms of colours, textures, patterns and materials.
Sustainability remains a key topic, with returning faces such as the UK Sustainable Flooring Alliance (UKSFA, formerly Carpet Recycling UK) and first-time show exhibitors such as Recofloor promoting its vinyl recycling service. The Flooring Show’s sustainability trail recognised exhibitors who are proactively pushing for an environmentally friendly future, encouraging visitors to look out for sustainable solution providers.
It will be exciting to see how The Flooring Show will take this momentum into 2026; the show’s rebranded logo is the first step to be seen in its growing ambitions. In addition to Harrogate in Autumn, the show is promised to expand into Sandown Park in Surrey on 15th–16th April.
