CFA Flooring Apprentice of the Year Competition Finalists

Congratulations to everyone who has made it to the finals of the 2025 Flooring Apprentice of the Year Competition! This well-established competition highlights the hard work and achievements of flooring apprentices across the UK.

The three finalists will attend the InstallerSHOW on 24th June where we will hold the live reveal of this year’s winner and prize giving event on the InstallerFUTURES stand at 4:15pm. Good luck!

Here’s what the finalists have to say for themselves!

Daniel Mee, Hillside Contracts Ltd, supervised by Andy Moore

“It is an amazing honour and a testimony to the effort, dedication, and enthusiasm I have put into my apprenticeship that I have made it into the final three for the CFA’s Flooring Apprentice of the Year 2025. Being recognised along with other promising apprentices is exciting and it motivates me to keep developing my skills in the flooring trade. It would mean the world to me to receive this award because it would not only acknowledge the hard work I have done but also be a strong motivator to continue aiming for greatness, consistently improving on the skills I have learnt. It would encourage those who are just beginning their careers in flooring the same as I did just a few years ago.”

Greg Scott, Veitchi Flooring Ltd, supervised by John Purdie and Laura Rae

“Reaching the final 3 is an amazing milestone that fills me with pride. It’s a testament to all the hours of hard work and dedication for mastering the craft of flooring. The recognition fuels my drive to keep working hard and completing projects to a high standard. Winning this award would be a game changer. I would also like to thank Veitchi Flooring for helping and coaching me through my apprenticeship.”

Sam Shetliffe, Capital Flooring & Blinds, supervised by Harry Shetliffe and Charles Shetliffe

“Making it to the final three of flooring apprentice of the year is an immensely proud achievement in my flooring career so far. It has proven that all my hard work and dedication combined with the skills I’ve learned are paying off. The recognition from industry professionals has reaffirmed my ambition to reach my full potential within the trade. Winning the competition would mean a great amount to me personally, my mentors and everyone who’s helped me reach the position I am at today. It would reflect on their hard work as much as mine. Winning would be an amazing milestone in what I hope to be a great career.”

This competition is made possible through the generosity of the sponsors, who are able to show that they value apprenticeships and believe in the importance of training within the industry:
