Carpet Recycling UK New CEO

Carpet Recycling UK is pleased to announce Cathie Clark as Chief Executive Officer. Cathie comments ‘As the new CEO of Carpet Recycling UK, I was very pleased to meet many members and stakeholders at this year’s CRUK Conference just two weeks into joining the organisation. It was also a fantastic introduction into the issues affecting recycling and sustainability in the UK, EU and the US. I learnt a lot in a short space of time and can only be impressed with the quality of work already undertaken by the industry. There are significant challenges ahead, and one of my first tasks will be working with the CRUK Board, Adnan and Julie to re-position and strengthen Carpet Recycling UK to ensure a robust and resilient organisation that is best placed to develop and deliver essential services and resources to members and stakeholders.

I have a track record running membership and trade organisations in the construction industry and prior to joining CRUK, I served as Chief Executive of the Single Ply Roofing Association. Already a well-respected membership body delivering excellent technical support to members and the wider industry, I worked with the team to improve communication, influence and collaboration within the single ply sector and wider construction industry.

I know how important it is when planning a future strategy, to listen to all members – regardless of membership level – to understand their concerns and priorities. True collaboration and success comes from listening, understanding and bringing everyone together to achieve our aims and objectives.

There is a lot of work to do and August will be a very busy month for the CRUK team as we plan for the future. There are also some exciting announcements to come and we are looking forward to the Harrogate Flooring Show on the 15-17th September where I hope I can meet more members and share our vision.’
