Manage Cold Site Conditions With CFA’s Winter Warning Campaign

The CFA’s Winter Warning campaign provides a range of different materials to CFA members to help them combat the seasonal issue of low temperatures on site. This includes the CFA Winter Warning Card, which contains a thermometer strip which will indicate whether the temperature on site is appropriate for installing floor coverings.

As temperatures become colder, it is important to remember there are a number of issues which can be caused by working on a project which is inadequately heated. Firstly, cold conditions are uncomfortable and potentially unsafe for the floor layers working in such conditions. Secondly, floor coverings, adhesives and subfloor materials may not perform properly if temperatures fall below certain norms. This is detailed in British Standards and Section 2 of the latest CFA Guide to Contract Flooring.

The CFA Winter Warning Card and toolkit is designed to assist members managing adverse weather conditions. Since it was launched in 2022, the campaign has been used as a tool and guide for contractors working during colder seasons. Armed with this advice, CFA members are prepared to deliver the high level of service, installation and support that specifiers and main contractors require.

The campaign toolkit can be found in the CFA Members’ Area. If you are a contractor and are not already a member, sign up to benefit.

Specify a CFA member for your next flooring project and know it’s in good hands. Visit the CFA member directory to search for a professional flooring service near you.
